| F.A.Q. on Sponsorship How much does it cost to sponsor a child? The cost is (USD) $30 a month per child. How do I make out my support check?
Should I send my check each month?
Will a notice be sent when the support payment is due? We will email you prior to the beginning of the month if your child does not have support for the upcoming month. Please be sure to communicate any email address changes to our organization so we can send you notices and updates. What portion of the support money reaches my child? 85% - 90% of the support money is send to our team in Honduras to directly assist your child. 10% - 15% is used for administrative expenses both here in the states and for our team in Honduras. Our goal is to keep our administrative expenses to a mimimum so that the maximum amount can go directly to your child, and as our ministry grows and more children are sponsored, we will be able to reduce our administrative costs to a goal of no more than 10% of all child sponsorship donations. What does my support money do? Each child's needs are different, and each child has a different economic and family situation. Therefore, we work with our team in Honduras to help determine the best use of the funds you send. Your support money may go to any or all of our 4 primary uses : food, clothing, medical care or education. Does anyone else sponsor my child? No, each child is assigned to only one individual, family, or group at a time. Who administers the funds I send? Please contact us if you have more questions. Our team in Honduras receives and administers the funds. They coordinate the distribution of the funds to ensure the child's needs are met and they communicate all distributions back to our home office for accurate record keeping on both ends. How long should I continue with my sponsorship?
Can I donate more than my $30/month child sponsorship? Yes. We have several additional ways to donate to help meet our needs. General Gifts can be made to support special projects and help with operation expenses. We also have a special Education Fund to assist children through high school or private school. Additional Special Gifts can be made to your child for birthday or Christmas (limit of $50/year per child in additional Special Gifts please). |
